At UniResort the management and residents work together to protect the environment. Our newsletter ResortNews includes a Green initiative every month Residents are encouraged to become active in UniResorts Green initiatives. Recently the residents participated in Earth Hour 2008. That night UniResort was switched off for one hour.
Below are some concepts we have used to protect our environment and inspire residents to help us:
· All residents have been issued with a 4 minute shower timer to reduce water consumption
· Showering with a bucket and then reusing the water on the gardens is a great help in the
drought
· The residents are encouraged to share the washer and dryer to reduce the amount of
loads and power consumption
· Residents should switch off everything when not in use for safety and to help the
environment
· Switching off the Air-conditioner on cool days and opening the door is an enormous power
reducer
UniResort has fabulous well maintained gardens. Some residents have taken advantage of the spacious gardens and developed their own vegetable plot.
